Full Initial Consultation
On my own time, I will review your CV and your personal statement. Your personal statement to me can be up to four pages double spaced. A longer personal statement is common, especially if you have multiple ideas and are having a hard time deciding on what to keep and what to edit out. When I edit, I keep in mind that the goal of the final essay will be one page singled spaced.
We will meet via video for thirty minutes. If your personal statement is at an earlier stage, we will focus on story development and global concepts. For example, I will be assessing whether the hook story is effective, whether your are clearly highlighting your strengths and uniqueness, and most importantly, whether your essay compels the reader to extend you an interview invitation.
If your personal statement is at a later stage where your stories and key concepts are present, easy to read, and captivating, then I will focus my editing to ensure that your voice comes across with clarity and maximum impact.

Follow up visit
On my own time, I will review your personal statement and see how you have incorporated my recommendations from our initial consultation.
We will meet via video for twenty minutes to discuss my edits. During this time, I will make sure that you are making process to your goal: a memorable and inspiring personal statement.

This option is for students who are not ready to commit for a full consultation. I will review your personal statement and give written feedback in a 100-word paragraph.
